Great to be back to a fairly normal year of LEGO shows and donations for 2022. This year saw GongLUG raising a lot of money for charities, Including the C4C donation we raised over $14,000 in fact!!!
Yet again we were extremely lucky to be offered the chance from Nannan and the Creations for Charity team to spread even more LEGO cheer to children less fortunate in Australia, whether they are sick, underprivileged, or doing it tough with all the recent crazy weather in Australia.
With the amazing donation from Creations for Charity this year, we were able to purchase our largest haul yet! Over 160 LEGO sets!!! With such a huge amount of sets we were able to split our donation to two great causes.
All bagged up to hand out!
Once again, Graham and I reached out to our local government member, Ryan Park, Member for NSW. Ryan runs a Christmas appeal to donate to SAHSSI, Supported Accommodation & Homelessness Services Shoalhaven Illawarra. SAHSSI provide crisis support for families escaping domestic violence and those experiencing financial hardship. Often times the parent needs to be interviewed upon arrival, and a LEGO set provides a great distraction for the children who are scared and uncertain.

Our second donation was giving to the children of Forbes, a town recently ravaged by floods in November. Graham drove over 4 hours to pass on the LEGO to the local church and community to donate to households affected by flooding.
Great to see all the smiles from local children upon receiving the LEGO!
Once again, we are blessed to be able to spread the love of LEGO in Australia. We wish all of you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and look forward to doing it all again next year.
