Creations for Charity 2014 – Monument, Colorado

I am so excited that we broke the 10,00 mark in 2014! LEGO was also extremely generous and donated a total of 600 Chima Speedorz sets and 200 of these sets were sent to my location for donation. (100 of the 200 Chima sets are shown in the photo)

I was able to purchase various superhero and friends sets which were roughly 25% off retail. For items that had little or no sale attached to them I altered my original buying plan to try and get the most bang for my buck and decided to purchase various 3 in 1 creator sets.

In total I was able to purchase 121 sets with my funds and donated a total of 321 sets to Toys For Tots with an estimated retail value of $5,000

Shortly after Thanksgiving I got incredibly ill, which took me 5-6 weeks to get over, and because of this I was unable to display, load and transport this years sets for donation. This is also the reason why my 2014 wrap up has been posted so late. I would like to take this time to thank my friend Kathy who helped me load my car and transport 500lbs of LEGO and the Big R employees who helped Kathy unload my car and move the LEGO inside the store to their Toys for Tots drop off station. Without their help I would still have the sets sitting in my house.

We also tried a something a little different for this years thank you gifts and created a collectible trio of bricks, with one 2×8 brick to be released each year. When all 3 bricks are combined (2014, 2015, 2016) you will be able to view the full image printed on the back of the bricks. Thank you to Queen Creek Bricks, a bricklink seller, who donated a portion of the 2×8 bricks and to Dan Kees, at Print-A-Brick, who donated $500 in printing towards the collectible thank you bricks.

And once again I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who made this years fund raiser such an incredible success! The generosity of the community and LEGO continues to astound and humble me every year. Thank you to everyone who donated their time, builds, word of mouth and funds which made the 2014 fund raiser our biggest success yet! Because of your efforts thousands of children’s Christmas was a little merrier this year.
