C4C for Refugees in Cairo

Due to COVID-19, we weren't able to host a large donation event like we have for the past several years. Instead, we gave the donations to six refugee families who donated them to their refugee neighbors. This allowed them to receive Lego gifts and experience the luxury of giving gifts to others. It was fun to receive photos from their giving experiences. All recipients were very poor South Sudanese refugees living in Egypt hoping for resettlement to Europe or the United States. It is truly heart-warming to see how Creations for Charity has expanded its reach all the way to Cairo. I was particularly moved by the detail regarding the distribution at the orphanage and how the children were so eager to start building their new sets immediately. It really highlights that LEGO is a universal language that brings joy regardless of geography. Seeing the photos of those smiles makes the whole initiative feel much more personal.
